John Christian

As parents we think our children are the cutest kids & do the funniest things. Of course I guess you wouldn't be reading this blog if you didn't agree! ;) Here are some of John Christians latest sayings!

This morning John Christian came into the den holding his sippy cup in one hand & the lid in the other. I can't believe he can unscrew tops now! He sadly told me, "Mom, I needed to water your flowers." When I went into the kitchen there was milk all over the table & a little on the flower - plant he gave me for Mother's Day. I thought it was the sweetest thing that he tried to water my gift with his milk! :) We cleaned up the mess & I showed him how to water the flower with "water".

Earlier this week when we were getting into the van John Christian yelled, "Mom look at that guy! He's naked!!!" Our neighbor was outside wearing nothing more than some black spedo type shorts tilling up his yard. He's actually been doing this all week. So, everytime we've gone outside he yells about the naked neighbor & tells me he should wear clothes outside!

"Let your lips be still!" - He says this while pinching my lips together so that he can give me a kiss!

Ever since he had the Rotavirus he uses excuses like: "I'm sick. I think I'm going to throw up. (fake gag) I need to stay up with you on the couch & watch cartoons." or "My tummy hurts. I need some medicine." (He likes the taste of bubble gum motrin.) What a mess!

John Christian has the biggest imagination. He LOVES Thomas The Tank Engine & we love buying him little trains. When watching the show he often goes & gets the trains involved to act out scenes along with the tv. Each time he gets a new train he spends hours in his room acting out his favorite scenes. As a result of watching so much Thomas he asks questions like, "Mom, are you cross with me?" Plus, he quotes everything he hears on tv or out of our mouths. We have to be very careful about what we say! ;)

I put Charlie down for a nap a little while ago. When John Christian quit hearing him move around he asked me, "What's Charlie dreaming about?"

His new favorite answer to everything is "I don't know?" I put a question mark because he says it as a question & it is very funny. You'd have to hear him say it to understand.

He loves to color, paint, & play with playdo. When he wants to do these things he tells me, "Mom, I need to do my art project today."

There are other things he says that are so much funnier. His vocabulary & the fact that he actually understands the words he uses amazes Zach & me. Are children supposed to talk this much before they are 3 years old?
