If it's going to happen it will probably happen to us...
Where do I begin! It's just one of those days! Really, I'm happy, but I feel like having a complaint session for a minute! This blog is my free therapy. Warning: If you don't feel like hearing me whine then don't read anymore! Plus, one story is about JC & gross! :)
I have a horrible sinus infection! It will not go away!! For the past 2 nights my left knee has done wierd things. It's like it locks up on me & it takes about an hour before I can walk normal in the morning. Plus, it keeps me up at night!
Poor John Christian has been coughing nightly for a while starting around 3AM. The pediatrician thinks it's asthma related. As a result we are doing breathing treatments at night for him. Of course he thinks this is great because now he gets to do something Charlie does. Some nights the treatments work. Some nights they don't & last night was one where he coughed a lot!
Zach is in the field until Wednesday. This is really not a big deal b/c usually it's for nearly 10 days at a stretch, but still he's not here. Everything always seems to happen when he has to go to the field. Before he left he felt sick, but we hoped it was just something he ate. Monday afternoon Charlie began to run a fever. I think he still had one tonight before he went to bed, but John Christian bit the end of the thermometer & I'm not really sure if it works anymore!!! Thanks buddy! The one good thing is that he has no symptoms with the fever or at least not yet! I was thinking this meant maybe it was teeth & I had nothing to worry about. Not so much!!
Picture me in the kitchen happily making chocolate cupcakes with white icing & m&m's on top. That is what John Christian wanted to have at his class party tomorrow. I decided to be Martha Stewart and make it all from scratch. Somewhere in the middle of this my sink clogged for the 3rd time. The last time the plumber left some heavy duty stuff for me to put in the sink. It is major toxic & I really don't like having it in the house. Of course, I had to do something about the drain & decided to try out the stuff. It says to use rubber gloves, but I didn't feel like getting them. Bad Idea!! I had to cover my face with my shirt the fumes were so toxic. Then, my hand slipped when I was turning on the hot water and somehow I dropped the bottle & splashed the toxic stuff onto my fingers. I had to wash them off with water & then vinegar to prevent from getting severe chemical burns. In the meantime John Christian had gotten out of his bed & gone into the bathroom. I heard him calling for me that he'd pooped. It was after 9PM. Yes, he'd pooped - well, diarrhea on the floor and bathroom rug! Then, of course he tried to clean it up with toilet paper! He had gone right by the potty, but didn't make it in time to sit on it! It was gross!!
Now, it is nearly 11:28PM! I think maybe John Christian is asleep. I did a bad thing & put the potty trained boy in a diaper b/c I didn't want him to have an accident in the bed tonight. Then, to top it off I laid a towel under him in the bed. I fear both children & myself will wake up sick in the middle of the night! Of course as long as it is not the rotavirus, I might be able to handle it! Zach never did get that! Lucky Guy!
So, if you did decide to read this say a little prayer that we will all be better in the morning! I threw away the cupcakes because I didn't want to give our germs to the kids at school. Luckily, I had not decorated them yet. I called John Christian's teacher to tell her we are sick & that John Christian will not be having his birthday snack at school tomorrow. She said if he's better we can do it on Friday! I just hope the rest of the kids don't get sick! His little party is Saturday & this is the first birthday he will probably remember! I just don't want him to remember that he & his friends were too sick to party! You have no idea how excited he is about this birthday! He knows what presents he wants. He picked out the place we are having his party along with the invitations, pinata, & other party decorations. God if you are listening which I know you always are: Give us a little help on this one please!! Let the boy have a fabulous 3rd Birthday! He needs this! Especially since Zach was in Iraq last year & will be in Afghanistan next year! Thanks!
