Charlie's First Day of Parent's Morning Out

Charlie wasn't really thrilled about spending nearly 3 1/2 hours away from his mother! It is so rare that we are apart! Thank goodness the doors to both classes were closed so that I couldn't hear him crying! I did check in on him a few times & each time he had his pappy, his blanky & wasn't crying. Although I did notice he was being held most of the time & when I picked him up he was cuddled in "Miss" Katie's lap rocking in the rocking chair! Those poor women must have been exhausted once the day was finished! There were 6 children all between 6 months & 2 years of age. "Miss" Donnie the director even had to help out in the PMO room for a little while b/c there was so much crying due to separation anxiety!! Charlie will stay again on Friday while I help out in the 3 year old class. After that he will only stay on Wednesdays unlike his big brother who will go Mon, Weds, & Fri. I'm sure that within a few weeks Charlie will be best friends with Nanaw & "Miss" Katie just like his big brother was!

Charlie calmed down once I picked him up and held him for a few minutes at the end of the morning. Then, he let me put him on the floor & he was ready to play!! It probably helped that his big brother was there & most of the other crying children had gone home!

Charlie, you should know that John Christian asked where you were today. I explained to him that you had your own classroom with your own new friends. John Christian didn't think that was good enough & he wanted me to get you b/c he wanted you to play in his class with his friends! When we got home from school John Christian gave you several kisses & was very happy to see you! He actually missed you today!!
