Charlie

Charlie Chilling out in John Christian's chair! Sunday, July 30, 2006 after spending our first night in the new house!

Poor Charlie scraped his head pretty bad. On Sunday, July 30 when we were moving random stuff out of the old house Charlie managed to open the front door. I hadn't closed it all the way & I snuck out another door to take a load to the car while he & John Christian were playing. Before I could get to the car with my load I heard a thud & Charlie screaming. I turned around to find him on the pavement. He had opened the front door, crawled out the front walkway, & fallen off the little brick step that's about 4 - 6 inches off the ground. He had this red mark on his head along with a few others & a bump. It didn't bleed it just looked like he popped blood vessels inside or something. I was so sad for him & a little panicked, but after a while he seemed fine. So, we didn't rush him to the emergency room.

Happy Boy despite his mother's negligance!
**Poor Zach. I have no idea if I've blogged this or not. I thought I'd note that about an hour before this happened Charlie poked Zach in the eye with his finger. Zach was in our old bedroom resting his eyes & in a lot of pain. We ended up going to the Emergency Room b/c Zach said his eye was more painful than spraining his ankle or fracturing his shin. It turns out he had the worst scratch the doctors had ever seen. It was about the size of this U. They let me look at it through the black light. He was sent home with 2 percocet every 4 hours. He had to see the Opthomologist twice that week & was put on bedrest. He finally made it back to work on Tuesday afternoon, but was still in some pain & it took a few days after that to really heal!
