Insanity!!
I'm really behind with the blog. I have a ton of photos & stories to write about, but they'll have to wait! In the meantime I'll fill you in on why I'm so far behind!
Well, to sum it all up I have a contract on the house! Our close date is July 31 exactly 3 years to the day that we closed on this house when we bought it! I said when we decided to sell the house that if it was meant to be it would happen quickly & God would take care of everything. I felt like there was someone who needed the house in the same way that we did & that if it didn't sell by August we were meant to stay here.
Zach has been in the field since Monday. Before he left I told him I was going to pull the sign up & not sell the house this week. I didn't want to show the house since he will be gone until next Thursday or Friday(July 21). We hardly have contact when he's gone & he's been training pretty much all summer. Anyway, on my way to spend the night with my friend Melissa on Monday I thought about pulling up the sign, but was feeling lazy & decided I'd wait until I got back Tuesday. After all what could happen over night?
When the boys & I got home Tuesday night there was a message & additional call listed on caller id for me to call. It was late, but I decided to call the woman anyway. She wanted to see my house the next day! (Wednesday) I told her I just didn't know if that was possbile b/c we had a birthday party & the house is quite a disaster! She said she & her husband didn't care. She said they had been looking for 2 months, but had given up until they just happened upon my house. I agreed that they could come & look at the house, but figured I'd have a least a few minutes to clear out some toys & do the dishes! NOT!!
The woman called my cell phone at 12:45 on Wednesday & asked if she could come over at 1PM! I wasn't even at the house! We were at the party! We agreed on 1:15 & I raced home with the boys. The couple was there soon after. I was embarrassed at the stuff thrown all over our house, but reminded myself that if these were THE people that were supposed to live in this house then it really didn't matter. God is in conrol. Not me!
The moment they walked in the door they felt at home! It turns out she is from Union, SC not far from where Zach grew up! All of my SC paraphernalia made her feel an extra connection to the house! They have a little boy who will be 3 just 2 weeks before John Christian. After a few minutes of looking around they said they wanted the house. There were practically no negotiations. So far we are all happy & excited. We all feel like God had his hands in this & that has made it even more wonderful.
I am constantly amazed at God's Grace & how he truly takes care of me & my family! It is often hard for me to "Let Go & Let God", but when I do everything turns out for the best! It may not be exactly how I pictured it, but eventually I realize that God's way is the better way!
With all of that said here is what I am up to! The Army cannot move our stuff until September b/c they are backed up! I ordered a POD & had it delivered on Friday. I am making slow progress, but anything is better than nothing! We have a house on post that we can take possession of this Friday, July 21. The biggest pain about moving is that if we want to get reimbursed we have to go to the weigh station & get weight tickets on everything! Yuck, but at least we can get financial help with our move!
We have a new phone # lined up(I don't trust the internet to post that!), an appointment with the cable guy, someone to clean the house after we move out, & someone to professionally clean the carpets, & a whole bunch of other stuff.
I've been wanting to clean the house & get rid of the stuff! I guess now is my chance b/c the new house is smaller & there is no garage! :)
Zach was able to come in for 2 hours yesterday. It was just long enough for him to take a much needed shower, wash some uniforms, kiss the boys, & sign his name on the contract.
OK, Here are the most positive things happening besides the obvious that we sold the house!! Charlie isn't walking, but still free standing! He will be a year old in August which means 1 more month of formula! John Christian is pooping in the potty! He's been in real underwear for a week! He doesn't really need a diaper at night, but we are wearing pull ups at night at least until we get settled in the new house. Right now he's still in a crib & can't get out to go to the potty. At the new house he'll probably sleep in his big boy bed where he can get up & use the potty at night if needed! AND the greatest plus of all is that our little house is .5 miles from Zach's office which means we all get to spend more time together!! Hooray & again, Thanks be to God!!
