Chuck E Cheese

I decided at the very last minute to take the boys to Chuck E Cheese in Columbia to celebrate Charlie's birthday. His party is planned for when Zach comes home, but I just couldn't let his actual birthday go by with only having cupcakes at school. So, I called YaYa and Colonel who gathered John, Amy, Sarah, and Thomas for a little party at the CEC.

Back when we were little the Chuck E Cheese in Columbia was known as Show Biz Pizza. My parents borrowed a 15 passenger van once so that John could have a party there. We had fun reminiscing about when we were younger. I also think that YaYa, Colonel, and Uncle John had the most fun competing for tickets! Uncle John even purchased his own set of tokens because he wanted to play lots of games and basketball!

There is a neat little electric train that the boys love. Charlie just kept putting token after token into the machine b/c he didn't want it to stop!

This monster truck was Charlie's other favorite thing at CEC. You will notice lots of photos of him in it because that is pretty much were he stayed the whole night!

Colonel and YaYa competed in a race car game while Charlie watched!

Aunt Amy was nice enough to drive home from working in Columbia to get Thomas and Sarah from the sitter's house and then bring them all the way back. Uncle John was already working nearby and was able to make it a little earlier.

After school I let John Christian (aka JJ by Charlie) give Charlie the birthday present he picked out for him weeks ago at Target. It was a take along Thomas The Train and Percy Carnival. It looked really cool in the box, but it does not stay together well. I spent an hour putting it back together every time Charlie put a train on it because it kept falling apart which made both boys very sad. When it's not falling a part it is a pretty cool little toy!

Charlie's School Party

Charlie got to have a little birthday party in his classroom on the first day of school. We had chocolate cupcakes with white icing and sprinkles made by the lady who made our wedding cake, apple slices, pretzels, and apple juice boxes. The children loved the pretzels and apples more than the cupcakes! Go figure!!

Charlie didn't see me come to the side door for his party. I watched as he and another little girl followed the teacher around the entire room.

Charlie can do anything as long as he has pappy and blanky!
I find it a little funny that he is shy since he is so physically active.

Charlie knows how to blow out a candle, but for some reason he wouldn't do it. Instead he tried to put the flame out with his finger!

This is McAnts. We knew his mom and dad growing up. They both lived just down the road from us.

I managed to capture a little smile when I picked John Christian up from school.
