May Court

Thursday, May 3, 2007
I cannot believe that I am old enough to have a little boy in May Court at the school I attended from grades 1 - 12. I can still remember watching my little brother Stephen dancing to a song called "Throw The Bean Bag and Catch" 19 years ago in this same gym with the same preschool teacher!

My camera was having some issues and I was in a bad seat where all I could see was the back of John Christian's little body as he cutely sang and danced to the "Shakey Egg" song. I wish I could have seen the front and gotten it on video because what I did see was precious!

Goodbye Elvis II .... Hello lots of new fish!

On Wednesday, May 2, 2007 John Christian and I had a special date! Elvis II, the 2nd Beta Fish we got when Zach was in Iraq and I was pregnant with Charlie died. John Christian was most excited to flush him after watching the movie Finding Nemo because he knows "all drains lead to the ocean." Anyway, the babysitter kept Charlie so that John Christian and I could pick out some new fish because Zach suggested a bigger fish tank with more fish!

We had a wonderful afternoon together! We went to see the movie "Meet The Robinsons" which was in 3D. We had popcorn and candy! Afterwards we had icecream from the Marble Slab. We went to the mall and bought new shoes for John Christian called Crocs, and then had supper at Chick-fil-a before heading to the pet store.

We came home with a 10 gallon tank and 5 fish which eventually turned into 9 fish, some baby freshwater shrimp, and a few tadpoles. What little boy wouldn't be happy with that many fish in his room!

John Christian was a complete angel! He enjoyed every moment of special attention! I got lots of hugs and kisses as well as I love yous! We missed Charlie, but it was fun to be able to give John Christian some one on one attention since Charlie and I get 3 mornings a week together.

John Christian refuses to tell me the names of the fish. He says it's a secret!

Thank you for being such an awesome little boy!
I love you to the moon and back!

John Christian

These photos were taken the end of April first part of May. In the first photo John Christian drew a picture of a generator on his chalkboard. He wanted me to take a photo to send to his dad.

Yes, I said a generator. I asked him where he learned about generators and he said, "I just know these things." I asked him what a generator was and he said, "It turns lights on when the power goes out!" Where does he learn this stuff?

I'm not sure if I've ever posted this, but John Christian calls the uvula in the back of his throat a volcano. Here he is showing me his volcano.

Good Morning Super Heroes

I cannot remember the date these were taken, but somewhere at the end of April. Both boys wanted to dress like superheroes. Charlie loves being just like his brother and was excited that he let him wear his Batman PJs.

Shooting webs out of his hands.

Brotherly love!

Charlie loves to pretend to talk to his daddy on my cell phone.

Early Morning Visitors

On Saturday morning, April 28, 2007 we got a surprise knock on our door. We were being lazy and still in our pjs, but were delighted to see my childhood friend Olivia with her husband Reese and their son Jacob. Jacob is just a few days older than Charlie and it was the first time I had seen him in person. At first I thought he looked like his Aunt Marie, but I found an old photo of Olivia that I need to scan in and he is 100% his mama's little boy just like Charlie is 100% my little boy! As John Christian would say, "Craziness!"

After the boys played trains Olivia and Reese took my boys for a ride in their golf cart! Only in Cameron is it possible to ride a golf cart 2 miles down the road on a major highway to visit with a friend! I really love being at home! I hope that we will see more of Olivia, Reese, and Jacob!

Charlie's 1st Bike

Monday, April 23, 207
I took Charlie with me to get a few things from Walmart. He spotted this tricycle and immediately pointed and said, "My Bike! My Bike!" Of course I could not say no to that! He loves John Christian's old tricycle, but since it is broken and JC got a new bike I figured why not get one for Charlie! This tricycle is smaller than the first one JC had, but it is the same Radio Flyer brand. Charlie can reach the peddles, but has not quite mastered how to actually peddle. It doesn't mater though because he pushes with his feet and wears a bicycle helmet just like his big brother. He thinks this is awesome!!

More Progress With The Nest

Here we are a few weeks later as the happy couple continues to build their nest. This is the first time I have ever watched birds carry twigs in their mouths and put them into a nest.

The 2nd Phase of the Nest

Here are photos I took a few weeks later.

New House Guests

Here are photos I took of a pair of birds that have taken residence at my back door. I am having a fabulous time watching them build their nest and make preparations for their little family who will be here soon. Nature is just amazing!

At first I wasn't sure what these birds were, but after research in the bird book Zach gave me for Christmas I found that they are called Barn Swallows. Little did I know in these first few sitings that I would watch them build a home, hatch eggs, and give birth to 5 baby birds! Those photos will come later in the blog when I finally get things caught up to date!

This little dirt pile will soon be a nest!
