Happy 30th Birthday To Me!!
I guess this means I am getting old! Last night I had a great time celebrating my birthday with old friends. Amy, Melissa, Emily, & I went out to eat at Wild Wings in Columbia. It was awesome to have another week of playing catch up with friends. I have known these girls just about my entire life! After we ate we wandered around the shopping center, ate ice cream, and visited a book store. Times have really changed & we have truly settled down! Thanks girls for taking the time out for us to all gather and celebrate the fact that we are all turning 30 this year!
Neither one of the boys slept great. For a rare change both of them ended up sleeping with me! After this night I woke up realizing that a King Size bed is a must have!!
My birthday morning was nice & quietly spent with the boys. Earlier in the week per my request Dad took John Christian shopping to buy me a present. I gave him $11 and told him he earned it by helping me around the house and with dishes. Dad said the 2 of them had a wonderful time shopping. John Christian spent everything except for one penny! He is his father's son without a doubt!! At the store John Christian bought 2 bars of soap for his dad, a small airplane for himself, and one for his brother, rode the motorcycle outside, and bought me a card and present. He and Dad wrapped the present, and I put it away until today.
John Christian tried telling me what it was. He said in a soft voice, "Mom, I got you a dinosaur. Let's open it and play with it." I told him not to tell me anymore because it would ruin the birthday surprise. Well, I just knew it was a dinosaur. I had my surprise face already for this toy that I knew he thought I would enjoy playing with. However, when I opened the present on my birthday I was extremely shocked. There was no dinosaur! My little boy had tricked me and kept a secret for 5 days!! I could not believe it!! Instead of a dinosaur he got me a long handled back scrubber that he said would help me wash my back. He was very proud of himself & happy to see that he had given me a nice birthday present! I am such a lucky mom to have such a thoughtful little boy!! Thanks, John Christian for helping make my birthday so wonderful! Thanks to Charlie also just for being my little boy! I love you both! I wouldn't want to be 30 without either one of you!! Life would just be plain boring without y'all in my life!
Of course as with every birthday it would be nice to have Zach home. Maybe next year!!
The boys and I picked up lunch from the Cracker Barrel and took it to Meme's house. We ate lunch and then had birthday cake made by my favorite local lady. She is the same one who made my wedding cake. I like chocolate pound cake with white almond icing! Yummy!!
