Charlie's 9 Month Appointment
I'm a little behind with the blog, but what else is new? I still have photos to post, but sometimes even with dsl it takes too long to upload them to the blogger site. With that said last Thursday morning John Christian & I took Charlie in for his 9 month check up. It was supposed to be last week, but because of the ear infection we had to wait until he was all better. The good news is that his ears looked great. The bad news is that if he gets another ear infection during the summer we will be considering tubes b/c he is now 9 months old & had double ear infections in Jan, and ear infections in March/April(I can't remember), & then this ear infection the end of May. The pediatrician is hoping that consistent warm weather will help his little ears. We hope he is right!
Charlie was 19lbs 15 ounces! (5oth %) He is 28 inches long (25% - 50%)& I have no idea how big his head was other than around the 55th% which means his head is growing & catching up to his big brother who was always nearly off the charts with his head! Prior to this visit he's been in the 75th % for weight, 25th % for head, & is consistent with his percentages for height. I just cannot believe that my little 7lb 3 ouncer & 19.6 inches little guy has grown so much! He is close to tripling his birth weight! Where does the time go?
Charlie got 1 shot at this visit. Before we went to the dr I explained to John Christian that this was Charlie's special visit with the dr & that we would need to be extra nice to Charlie because he would be getting a shot. When John Christian heard this he asked me if he could have a shot. I explained what a shot was & that it would pinch him. He still wanted one. After we saw the dr the nurse came in & gave Charlie his shot. Boy was Charlie ticked off. (We call it being T'd O)The nurse quickly left because she doesn't like seeing the babies sad. Once she was gone John Christian grew very upset. He told me, "I want my own shot!". So, I had to console Charlie b/c he was in pain & John Christian b/c the nurse wouldn't give him his own shot! Hum...... I'm beginning to think John Christian was switched at birth because his daddy, mamma, & especially his Uncle John have come up with wonderful excuses in the past to avoid shots! Oh, the innocence of a child!!
I don't think I say it enough! I am so blessed to have these amazing little boys in my life, & I can never thank God enough for such precious gifts!
