Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny came to visit us at our house! What a great time to be a little boy! John Christian ate so much candy I thought he would be awake for days! There was also no doubt after Easter Sunday that he belongs to us! He picked out all of the chocolate & ate it first! Charlie was just as happy trying to eat plastic Easter Eggs!

Charlie tried to crawl on the couch to see what the Easter Bunny brought for John Christian.

Chocolate face!

Somehow we managed to drag John Christian away from his Easter goodies, cleaned the chocolate off his face, got both boys dressed, & got to church on time! It takes us nearly 30 minutes to get to church which means we usually either aren't in attendance or are late getting inside by the time we get the children settled in the nursery. I had every intention of taking my camera to church with us, but by the time the children were dressed, the diaper bag was packed, & the children were fastened into their carseats the camera was long forgotten. Oh well! Maybe, next year we'll get a family photo with all of us! I did manage to get a few photos of the boys once we came home.
John Christian ate the rest of the chocolate hidden in the eggs fromthe church's egg hunt before he even made it inside the front door!

Charlie fell asleep on the way home!

John Christian got quite the sugar high! He's eating starbursts in this photo! His little body was probably in shock since I don't let him eat a lot of junk!

Still sleeping! If only he would sleep at night! We are still working on it!

The photos of the 2 of them are why I had professional photos taken! John Christian just dropped him. This must run in the family! There is a Christmas photo of me with my brother John when we are close to the same age as the boys are now & John decided he didn't want to hold me either! I will post the photos with the live bunnies soon. They are supposed to be in any day now!

After the service the church had its annual Easter Egg Hunt. Last year because of rain it was held inside. By the time John Christian got into the little room all of the eggs were gone & one of the parents was nice enough to make their little boy share one of his dozen eggs with us! This year it was in the courtyard & John Christian managed to get a half dozen eggs. He could have gotten more, but instead of going for the eggs just lying in the grass he wanted to climb in the bushes & find all of the hard ones. I was just happy that he had such a good time & that Zach was here this year to help! Last year just wasn't the same without him.

Last Easter John Christian & I were here. I was around 4 months pregnant & Zach was in Baghdad. It was a windy, rainy, grey day. We did a teleconference with Zach & had to wait nearly 2 hours in a hallway to get our turn because the weather was so bad. By the time John Christian kind of figured out what was going on our 10 minutes was up. He cried & begged to go get his daddy. It was so sad & my heart broke for him because there was nothing I could do to fix his little tears. So, this Easter we felt very blessed to all be together in church celebrating Christ's resurrection together. Thanks be to God for bringing our little family back together!
