Out of the mouths of boys.....
About a week after we moved her I picked up John Christian from preschool, and here is our conversation:
John Christian, "Mom, let's go to Chick-fil-a and get some lunch and play on the playground."
Me, "There isn't a Chick-fil-a here."
JC, "What are we going to eat if there isn't a Chick-fil-a?"
Me, "I guess I'll have to cook more often."
JC, "Why isn't there a Chick-fil-a in Cameron?"
Me, "Because there are not a lot of people in Cameron and it is a small town."
JC, "Do they at least have a McDonald's with a playground?"
Me,"Well, not in Cameron, but there is one in the nearby town of Orangeburg."
JC, "Oh, good. Why don't they have a Chick-fil-a?"
Charlie words: All gone, baby, akeen (for Lightening Mcqueen from the movie Cars), Mater (from Cars), Donald's eat eat eat (McDonalds), pop (top - he is obsessed with putting tops on and off), jump, jump, jump lean (on the trampoline), hey cat (He stands and looks out of the window while yelling and waving at the neighbor's cats), kitty kitty, hiney (he likes to take his diaper off and run around saying this over and over), door, up, beep beep, Meme, Papa, Amy, John, hide, dog, go outside, want more choc choc or onj juice (chocolate milk or orange juice), hat, hot (he says this while blowing on things like ths stove, the dryer, my grandmother's calendar that has a picture of a volcano with lava - very funny), YaYa, PawPaw, Pop, Nana, walk walk, cake cake (for cake or pancake), hot dog, pease (please), bumb a bumb bumb (bubble gum). His words may not be super clear to everyone, but he is really starting to make an effort to repeat most anything.
animal sounds:
Sheep - "Baa Baa"
Cow - "Moo"
Goose - "Honk Honk" (this is his favorite)
Horse - "Neigh"
Kitty- "Meow"
Duck- "Quack, Quack"
He can also point to all of his body parts and tell you what they are such as: head, feet, teeth, toes, fingers, eyes, hair, ears, etc....
On Saturday night March, 24, 2007 I put John Christian to bed. We had a really long day and got to spend a few hours just the 2 of us while The Colonel played with Charlie. John Christian was exhausted, but before he fell asleep he gave me lots of kisses. We played a game where I closed my eyes and he suprised me by kissing me in a different place like my cheek, nose, or eye. After that he put his head on his pillow and said, "I am so happy!" I asked him why, and he said, "Because I am here and you are my mommy!" This statement and his sweet face confirmed that my decision to move to Cameron during Zach's deployment was really the best thing for the boys. It was also one of the nicest things anyone has ever told me ! My sweet little boy sure knows how to melt my heart!
