Putting Up The Christmas Tree

On Wednesday, November 29, 2006 we put up our tree.
We bought our Christmas Tree in St. Matthews this year from family friends who have their own tree lot. It's nice because we know that the trees are cut the week of Thanksgiving which means a much fresher tree! We bought a shorter tree like we did when John Christian was smaller and put it on our coffee table. Both of the boys love having a Christmas Tree in the house. I have been amazed that Charlie has been very gentle with the tree & so far has pulled off only a few ornaments.

Our tree is decorated with SC ornaments, Americana Ornaments, & several handmade ornaments to include shotgun shells made by Zach, painted ornaments by me, & little ornaments made by John Christian. I cannot wait until our tree is completely full of ornaments made only by the boys!








This ornament is a train card. Our cousin Steve Roland sent us cards that were 3D every year and wrote Bah Humbug. I'm so happy my parents shared one so that my boys can learn about Steve who died before my senior year at Converse. He had quite the sense of humor. For example one year he gave us all pink flamingos. It was always fun to see what crazy thing he would do & I hope my boys will learn to live and laugh like he did.

We also made more "attempts" at taking a photo for our Christmas Card. Notice John Christian looks like he is going to bite Charlie. I don't think that will keep him on the "Nice" list this year! :)
