Waiting for The Polar Express

Monday, December 17, 2006

After Zach had lunch with the guys we headed for the mountains for a little family adventure. We took the boys to ride The Polar Express Train in Bryson City, NC. My parents paid for the train tickets and one of our nights at The Dillsboro Inn. The train ride lasted about an hour and 15 - 20 minutes. The boys were good for the first 30 minutes or so, but after that they wanted to run around the train which was not allowed. It was hard to keep these two little movers and shakers in their seats, but we survived. The boys were thrilled to ride on the train and to talk to Santa! We will definately want to go back sometime!

P.S. - Thanks Mom for the precious matching PJ's.

We stopped for a quick hot dog a little after 4PM across the street from the train station. We didn't think the boys could hold out for dinner since we wouldn't get off the train until 6:30.

John Christian was so excited about the upcoming train ride.

Charlie, :"Choo choo, Choo choo!"
He was thrilled when he saw the train pull up.

Our "Polar Express"

There was a little wooden platform where children could sit in front of the train so that parents could take pictures of the. However, the boys refused to turn around and look at me so that I could get the train behind them. Here they are pointing at the train!

Still pointing at the train.

John Christian couldn't wait to show off his "Golden Ticket!"

Wandering around and waiting!
Patience is hard for anyone much less little boys about to get on a train where Santa will visit!!

John Christian and Mr. Conductor
If you know anything about trains then you know it was a huge deal for this little guy to have his photo taken with Mr. C. It was about as big a deal as Santa!

He was a little dissapointed that he didn't have a puncher like the guy in the "Polar Express", but he got over it pretty quickly.

All Aboard!!!
